A study in soothing cool grays, white and black, the newly constructed Villa Rose Dog (RDG) exudes a quiet luxury. But the property also has a St. Barth–style spirit of play, as seen by graphic black-and-white wall coverings in the living area and the stylized pink terriers placed throughout, such as inside the sleek back lampshade hanging over the dining table and on the walls of the open-air living area. It’s a comfortable, welcoming sanctuary with a flexible configuration that makes it suited to couples on their honeymoon and larger families on vacation alike.

Yet for all the chic design, the real star of Villa Rose Dog (RDG) is the spectacular views of over the Caribbean Sea from Petit Cul de Sac to Toiny Bay, as seen from the quiet hillside of Dévé. That’s what greets you when you first enter the villa, when you cook in the modern galley kitchen, when you dine at the long table, when you wake up in three of the bedrooms and when you relax in the open-air living area, and what’s going to captivate your eye during a stay here. Inside and outside mesh seamlessly in the living area, which is well suited to entertaining, and there are several levels of shaded and unshaded terraces for soaking up sun and cool ocean breezes.

The swimming pool is another showstopper, languidly stretching out 20 meters along the entire length of the white-tiled terrace, with steps leading into it on both sides and an infinity edge enhancing the sea views below. Since it’s right by the 10-person dining table, and after-lunch swim is highly encouraged.

Villa Rose Dog (RDG) has two master bedrooms that are connected to the main living area and open through sliding doors onto the pool deck. A third full bedroom is in a separate bungalow on a higher level with its own private entrance, terrace, kitchenette and bar, making it ideal for a casual alfresco breakfast or cocktails. All three have an understated elegance, with gray pebbled walls, light-colored floors and peaked ceilings, and crisp white linens on their queen platform beds, as well as those alluring vistas outside their large windows. There’s a fourth, simpler bedroom, which is suitable for teenagers or staff, in a bungalow on a lower level.
