Summer 2020 Travel Requirements for Turks & Caicos

The Turks and Caicos Islands have long been one of our most popular vacation destinations at EliteLYFE. Anyone who’s been to Grace Bay Beach or toured around the islands will know why. It’s pretty much the most idyllic Caribbean paradise one could imagine. Providenciales’ boutique collection of modern, oceanfront villas means the beaches often have no one around, with no signs of mass tourism, even in the towns.

As the world begins to emerge from its COVID-19 slumber, Turks and Caicos Islands are once again reopening Providenciales airport to visitors. As of Wednesday, July 22, 2020, Turks & Caicos is open! However, new requirements have been put in place to ensure the safety of all residents and visitors, with all travelers now needing to be authorized prior to flying.

As of August 1, 2020, Turks and Caicos Islands have had just 114 coronavirus cases and two deaths. If you’re looking for a safe vacation destination, this is it. Having said that, with the virus well and truly under control there, the onus is on the visitor to prove they’re not bringing the problem.

Travel authorization into the Turks and Caicos Islands is a simple process that can be completed online at the TCI Assured portal. You will have to provide some information and some of it is time-sensitive. You will have to submit:

Personal information including name, address, date of birth, and passport number, and answer a series of health-related questions.

A negative COVID-19 PCR test result, taken at least 5 days before arrival in Turks & Caicos. Note, children under the age of 10 are excluded.

A medical/travel insurance policy that covers medevac, quarantine-related costs, ambulance assistance, or local hospital care.

Once authorized, you can go ahead and finalize your travel arrangements. Visitors will need to provide a printed or electronic copy of their travel authorization at check-in and boarding. Note: you won’t be able to board a flight to Turks & Caicos without authorization!

Upon arrival to the Turks and Caicos Islands, all travelers will have their temperature checked. Some visitors may also be tested for COVID-19 due to ongoing spot checks.
A national law requiring the use of face masks in public is in place until the end of the year, however, there are exceptions including being at the beach and while seated in a restaurant.
