It’s also just a 10-minute drive to golf and dining in Pebble Beach®, or attractions such as Pacific Grove’s butterfly trees and the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row.
The 4-bedroom, 2.5 bath home has been extensively remodeled keeping all of its historic charm while adding modern conveniences and a beautiful patio with outdoor fireplace, where you’ll want to gather for drinks, conversation and to hear the sound of crashing waves in the distance.
The home was originally built by artist/writer Pedro Joseph de Lemos, who built the home as his Carmel art studio in 1926. Known for his color block prints, he was the first president of the Carmel Art Association and is considered an influential Craftsman-era artist and educator, and was the director of the Stanford University art museum and gallery from 1917 to 1945.
The home has been designed to let in natural light through many windows. Plaster walls, Carmel stone fireplaces, and country French furnishings add to the relaxed ambiance.
Upon your arrival, you will be greeted with complimentary cheese and wine or sparkling cider, spa discount passes and a basket of local information. An assigned concierge vacation house manager is available to assist you during your stay. We have also provided spa amenities in the bathrooms, as well as spa robes, and beach gear with everything you need for a day at the beach, including chairs, blankets, towels, umbrella and cooler.
The home features a cozy living room with a built-in window seat and comfortable chairs around a gas Carmel stone fireplace, a perfect setting for reading a good book or watching the 44-inch HDTV.
Hardwood floors can be found throughout the residence, leading to a dining nook that seats six and counter seating for three. The adjacent kitchen is truly chef-quality, with a French-made La Cornue gas stove, an embellished marble farm sink, mosaic tile counter-tops and back-splash, and a handy pot-filler faucet over the stove. A half-bath is located nearby.
A downstairs area offers a washer and dryer as well as a shower and sink.
Two bedrooms are upstairs, and offer a peek of the ocean through the cypress and pine trees. At one end of the house are three bedrooms, all with brand-new luxury queen beds, that share a bathroom with a tub/shower combination in addition to the powder room on this level. Two guest bedrooms have 44" HDTVs.
At the other end on the second floor is an office/den area and the master bedroom suite, which features treetop views as well as a new king bed, a gas Carmel stone fireplace, one upholstered armchair, a 50-inch HDTV, and an en suite bath with designer tile and glass shower.
