A Taste of Nice

Designed for adults or families with older children, the Taste of Nice full day tour is a relaxed and flexible introduction to some of the highlights of the city, from its market and gastronomy to its museums and cultural sites.

Become “Niçoise” in a day, discovering the food, art, and culture of this historic city. Begin with a guided walking tour of the famous open-air food and flower market on the Cours Saleya, with its array of local specialties such as chick-pea socca, savoury pissaladière and hearty pan bagnat (open daily except Mondays). Wander through the streets of the old town, a maze of food specialty shops and boutiques, stopping for a refreshing gelato along the way. After taking time for lunch at your leisure at a local café, visit the collection of modern European and American art at the Musée d’Art Moderne et d’Art Contemporain (MAMAC), or optionally head to the ancient district of Cimiez, north of the city. The elegant neighborhood is home to the Musée Marc Chagall and the Musée Matisse (both closed Tuesdays), as well as Les Arènes de Cimiez, a vast park that includes a Roman amphitheater, Roman baths, and an Archaeological Museum.
